Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs in your browser’s memory. We do not receive your document’s content or filename, store it in the cloud or add it to an upload history. Removing the document from the tool or closing the tab releases the app’s references to it.
Which file size should I choose?
Choose the limit you need for an email attachment, an upload form or sharing. Use a preset, including 4 MB, or enter a custom size in MB or KB. The limit applies to the entire file, not each PDF page.
What happens to image quality?
Compression can reduce image quality. Always check small text, numbers and other important details in the saved copy. We create a separate copy, so the original on your device is unchanged.
Can I compress a digitally signed PDF?
Do not compress a digitally signed original. Changing a PDF invalidates its digital signature. This tool is intended for scanned copies: PDF compression turns pages into images and removes searchable text, interactive fields and digital signatures. A file already within your limit is kept unchanged.
An upload says my file is too large. What should I do?
Find the maximum attachment size shown by the website, choose that limit here and save a smaller copy. Check the allowed file format too: HEIC photos can be converted to JPG. A per-file limit differs from a total attachment limit, and a smaller file still needs to be readable.
Why is my file still too large?
A very small limit may not be achievable for a detailed scan or a long PDF. The tool will tell you when the result exceeds your limit. Try a larger size or make a clearer scan with less empty space.
Can I use my phone?
Yes, with a supported modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Files up to 40 MiB and PDFs up to 100 pages are supported, but available memory also affects processing. Long PDFs may take more time or run out of memory. No account or installation is needed.
